Delivery Terms and Conditions
Our standard method of delivery is via Parcelforce – we ask that you please allow 5 to 7 working days, but your consignment may arrive in as little as 1 working day.
Delivery Times
Delivery times are not guaranteed and for goods lost in the post, there will be of period of 14 days before any claim can be compensation for.
Pallet Deliveries
Our standard method of pallet delivery is via a local freight forwarder. Pallets are non-returnable. Carriage charges are calculated on the weight of the consignment. Delivery location is also a factor and will be quoted before despatch.
Delivery Destination
Delivery is to kerbside only. Kerbside delivery of most pallet consignments involves offloading from the vehicle using a tail-lift, as close to your property as is deemed safe by the driver. A manual pallet truck may be available, but this is not guaranteed. Manual pallet trucks can only operate on a flat, level, concreted, or similar firm surface. They cannot operate on slopes, gravel, earth, grass or any other type of non-solid surface. Drivers are not insured to move goods into the consignee’s premises unless otherwise arranged at point of order.
In the case of kilns and certain other equipment, special arrangements may be required with extra assistance organised – this must be agreed with us at point of order. All access points must be of sufficient dimensions to accept the delivery in a fully constructed form. Driveways and access points to ground floor doorway must be level and not of loose construction i.e. grass or gravel etc. If access is limited, we can provide a service to build the kiln on site. Prices quoted after receipt of full access details. It is your responsibility to ensure in advance that there will be someone present to accept, check and sign for the delivery. If the freight forwarder is unable to complete the delivery and it is returned to the depot, a re-delivery charge will apply.
Delays
Our couriers and freight forwarders will endeavour to deliver orders within any agreed timeframe but unexpected delays due to breakdowns, traffic, weather conditions and any other contributing factors are outside of our control and no compensation will be given.
Accepting Your Delivery
All deliveries should be checked carefully before signing the paperwork. Obvious signs of damage to the consignment MUST be noted alongside your signature. If there are no obvious signs of damage you must still note that the contents have not been checked. You must notify Potteries Kilns of loss or damage within 24 hours of delivery. We are bound by the terms of our hauliers therefore we cannot pursue a claim if these instructions are not followed. Some couriers will require a signature upon delivery. If there is no-one to accept the delivery, they may leave a card and return the consignment to their depot. You will then need to contact the depot to arrange redelivery or collection within a set time period before it is returned to us. Please note that after the second delivery attempt, a surcharge will apply for each attempt thereafter.
